A traditional ose/hen basket handwoven in Worcestershire using sustainably-grown local willow. Created using frame basketry techniques, in which the willow rods are woven around hoops, with ribs added for support.


These baskets were traditonally used in Scotland for carrying broody hens to neighbouring farms. Popular in the 50s and 60s as handbags, these baskets have had many uses and names, and are even believed to have Celtic origins.
