This contemporary basket has been handwoven using a variety of willow called Brittany Green, grown on the Somerset levels. The willow has been steamed which brings out its brown tones. It features a variation of French Randing weave and the distinctive open Irish Pairing weave that was traditonally used on donkey creels.
