Arrival from 9.30am to begin at 10am.

On this two day course you will learn how to make an asymmetric basket using Somerset willow. A great basket to try your hand at willow weaving. Using tried and tested willow basketry techniques, you will work in a small group of 8, guided by two tutors, Sarah and Marcus. You will begin by completing a base we will have started for you, before moving onto adding uprights, weaving the sides and border, and adding a handle; ending with a basket made with your own hands.

This course is designed for beginners.

Please bring a packed lunch.

Materials and use of tools included. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available throughout the day.

This course is aimed at beginners, either for those who have made a few baskets before, or for those who are coming to make their first basket. This course is not designed for those with more experiece/intermediate makers.

Willow weaving is physically active in all area. It can particularly hard on the hands, so is unsuitable for those who suffer from arthritis or other conditions that affect the hands. Courses will involve working at many levels, including bending down to the floor, working on laps or standing, and working seated at tables. If you have any physical difficulties in any of these areas, we advise you to contact us before booking; some alternative arrangements may be possible but we can not guarantee this.

Cancellation Policy (summary):

This course is non-refundable, unless we can fill your place. Courses are non-transferable.

By purchasing a place(s) on our course you are agreeing to our full Terms and Conditions (link below), section 'Courses'.
