Large storage basket - 3 day workshop

TIMES: 9.30 - 4.30 each day

VENUE: Arch 27, Croft Rd, Worcester WR1 3BD

COURSE OVERVIEW

During this immersive 3 day workshop you will create a large storage basket. We will begin the first day by learning how to select, sort and grade the material ready for weaving - an important skill to create a balanced basket. After this you will learn how to make a round base and how to measure and insert the uprights.

The second day will focus on building the sides of the basket, with different options for weaving patterns and shaping to suit your level of experience. On day three you will finish the sides before weaving the border, with options to create a basket with a flat top or to add handles. If time allows, you can also learn how to add a 'false foot' to you basket; a rim that is woven on the base of the basket which helps the base from wearing out, and which can be replaced, helping the longevity of the basket.

Places are limited to 6 people to give plenty of support to each participant, with Sarah on hand to guide you through each of the processes involved in creating your very own sculptural asymmetric basket.
