herringbone vessel 6

This body of work speaks of the desire to find and know one’s place; of the need to be at rest and find shelter within oneself and within the world.

Nestled within the land where our willow is grown, Sarah has spent the year weaving from her new studio space; spending time observing the shapes and patterns in her immediate environment. Round curved forms with densely textural surfaces have been woven using home-grown willow, inspired by organic forms observed during ritual daily walks.

Created in the landscape which inspired them, and where the materials came from, these six pieces are both a reflection and record of Sarah’s direct experience in the natural environment.
