ofett | small | garden basket

A small-sized basket ideal for foraging or collecting small harvests from the garden. A white willow rod has been bent around a circular former and then spliced together to form the hoop for the Catalan base of this basket. The sides are woven in bands of waling, and finished with an asymmetrical border and hazel handle.
 
This basket is made using three different types of willow: Black Maul, Flanders Red, and white. 
 
The word ofett is Old English for fruit and vegetables.
