Venue -Prior Shop, Bristol
Saturday 10th September 2022
Working in the beautiful Prior shop in Bristol, you will be using tried and tested weaving techniques and will take home a round-based garden basket with an asymmetrical border, made using Somerset willow and topped with a wooden handle.
I will guide you step by step through the process, teaching you how to: start the basket by making a base, how to add the uprights into the base before weaving the sides and border, and finally adding in a wooden handle. An intensive yet fun day full of learning for beginners, in which you will take home not only this unique looking basket but also the skills to make more in the future.
The workshop is from 10.30am-5pm. Please arrive 10 minutes before the workshop so you have time to settle in, and time to make a cup of tea or coffee.
This basket workshop is aimed at beginners.
This workshop and venue are accessible for wheelchair users.
As you may expect, willow weaving can be hard work on the hands, so please bear this in mind before you book.
Please wear practical clothing; we will be weaving, sawing and drilling! Please do not wear open shoes/sandals. Thank you.
All tools needed for the day are provided, and the materials for one basket are included in the cost of the workshop.
Tea and coffee are provided. Please bring your own lunch and snacks.
You must be 18 years old or over to attend these courses.
